Verdict Context v2

• Building on Verdict Context v1, which added a Reason column for quick visibility into the source verdict factor between Reputation, List, Ruleset or Category

• Renamed Reputation to HYAS Engine throughout as the going-forward nomenclature for our proprietary method for rating DNS traffic artifacts

• The query verdict flyouts have been updated to replace Reputation, Block List, and Allow List with more descriptive Reason and Reason Factors sections.

  • Reason shows the main factor behind a query verdict.

  • Reason Factors lists any other factors that were considered but did not ultimately determine the verdict. These could potentially become the Reason if the main factor was removed.

  • Formatting is standardized for clarity across verdicts.

  • A visual flow diagram summarizes the logic behind the verdict.

  • Quickly investigate unexpected block verdicts through enhanced query context.

  • Understand the potential implications of removing certain Lists, Rulesets, or Category blocks via “Reason Factors”

Centralized Local Domains & Resolvers

• When version 2.1.0 of the agent is released, Admins will be able to centrally define a list of Local Domains that should resolve locally.

• Local Resolvers can also be centrally configured with your DNS servers that can resolve the Local Domains list.

• Changes to Local Domains and Local Resolvers may take up to 5 minutes to synchronize to your 2.1.0+ agents.

• Benefits:

  • Simplified central control over local domain configuration.

  • Streamlined configuration and centralized management reduces administrative overhead across environments.

  • Enables consistency in local domain handling.
